Where clinical rigor meets cannabis.

Most cannabis educators come from one world — academia or the dispensary. Dr. Alexander Dix is fluent in both. A PharmD with deep clinical training and 7+ years of frontline experience, he bridges a gap the healthcare system refuses to close.

His Story

Where it started.

Dr. Alexander Dix earned his Doctor of Pharmacy from NEOMED in 2017, expecting a career path that ran straight through hospital pharmacy. What he found waiting for him was a healthcare system completely unprepared for the cannabis patients walking into every clinic, every dispensary, every emergency room — patients no one in his program had been trained to treat.

From clinical to canopy.

After completing his APPE rotations and training, Dr. Dix took a path most pharmacists never consider — joining KIP Dispensary as Clinical Director. Seven years later, he has consulted with thousands of patients face-to-face, navigating the pharmacology, the politics, and the lived experience of medical cannabis in a way no pharmacology textbook could ever capture.

Building the bridge.

Mentored by Dr. Dustin Sulak (Healer.com), Dr. Dix testified before the Maryland State Senate on SB0587 (Compassionate Use in Hospitals). He has presented to the Cleveland Clinic, keynoted Johns Hopkins / NORML Maryland events, served as a Cannabis Science Conference Baltimore Medical Track Speaker, and lectured at Notre Dame of Maryland University as APPE Preceptor.

What's next.

Today, Dr. Dix runs The Cannabis Pharmacist — a Maryland-based practice training healthcare professionals through Clinical Cannabis Mastery, consulting with patients one-on-one, and building the institutional resources the next generation of providers will need. The mission is simple: cannabis-literate clinicians, in every healthcare setting, everywhere.

"Cannabis patients are patients. They deserve the same clinical rigor, the same evidence-based guidance, the same respect — as anyone else walking into a healthcare encounter."
